This page details the work I've done
and am currently doing on the Caprice
I bought this car in
August of '95. It was a high mileage, ex-fleet vehicle from a company in
Plymouth, CT that had several full size GM wagons. This Caprice
served as my primary transportation until August of '01. Due to the fact
the dealer would only give me $100 for it as a trade in when I purchased
another vehicle I kept it. It's now kept as a spare vehicle and doubles
as my "truck". There are a great many of these vehicles being
junked and also used a demo cars before going to the crusher. I'm hoping
to keep this one alive as long as possible. It will only be a few more
years before it's eligible for antique plates :)
This is the 9
passenger model (3rd seat) and fully loaded. It has power everything, windows,
locks, seat, antenna, ect. It's powered by an Oldsmobile 307 (factory),
engine code "Y" in the VIN. I added a class 1 hitch when I
replaced the rotted rear bumper.
The Mustang gets
most of the attention but occasionally this one will. The main problem
is I currently don't have a garage for it. This limits how far I can
really get into this car, especially here in Northwestern, Connecticut
where it gets brutally cold for several months out of the year.
